Geneva, circa 1780, with prestige marks
Oval box, the guilloch panels on cover, sides and base coated with translucent orange enamel and bordered with opaque white enamel bands embellished with gold taille d'pargne wavescroll garlands, the lid applied with a gold-mounted oval enamel plaque painted with two seated young ladies personifying Painting and Sculpture, within a border of translucent green enamel leaves and opaque red and blue flowerheads on a matted gold band, the matted gold borders with matching enamelling, the side pilasters applied with similarly enamelled urns
