TWO FRENCH GOLD BOXES
one by Louis-Franois Tronquoy (fl. 1827-1871), marked, Paris, circa 1840, with the third standard mark for gold, Paris, 1838-1919, the other with the French export mark 1840-1879
Two rectangular gold boxes with engine-turned panels on cover, sides and base, the larger one with scrolling floral borders and raised foliage thumbpiece, both centred with a cartouche of polished gold engraved with a coronet, within foliate borders, the smaller one fitted inside with a rasp and at the outside with a suspension ring
