The octagonal top with central octagon inlaid with a mythical beast holding flowers in its jaws, on an ebony ground within a larger field, the edge banded in ebony and inlaid with marquetry of scrolling foliate design and with gadrooned edge, on outsplayed dolphin legs and incurved triangular plinth base with outscrolled stylised scallop shell and scroll feet
