The circular enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, inscribed 'Merra Paris', within a ribbon-tied and foliate swagged bezel surmounted by a berried finial with lotus leaf and guilloche moulded edge, the sides hung with satyr masks and entwined snakes on a gadrooned and fluted outsplayed socle with lotus leaf-tied base, on a conformingly shaped rectangular ormolu and white marble plinth, on circular feet, with winding key, later movement
20 in. (52.1 cm.) high; 10in. (25.4 cm.) wide; 8 in. (20.3 cm.) deep
