First half of the 19th Century, printed brown Indian Iron Stone and coat-of-arms mark, probably for J. & G. Alcock
Printed and painted with exotic birds perched in flowering branches within scroll borders, each with two underglaze blue and gilt grotesque dolphin's-head handles, the covers with Buddhistic lion finials (both vases with rims restored, one with crack around base, one cover extensively repaired and riveted and with small rim section lacking)
