Lot Essay

Selina, daughter and co-heiress of Washington, Earl of Ferrers married Theophilus, 9th Earl of Huntingdon (1696-1746). Their daughter, Elizabeth, married the 1st Earl of Moira. An old photograph in the Heinz archives reveals that the child was once painted out.
