engraving, richly handcoloured in predominantly reds, blues, greens, yellows and white with gold heightening, signed with his monogram by Georg Mack of Nurnberg (Nagler 172), a good impression, trimmed within the platemark, two pinholes in the halo, a short repaired tear at the lower left extending into the foot of the angel, some slight scuffs at the reverse edges, other minor defects

Georg Mack was a professional illuminator active in Nurnberg from 1570-1610. Four impressions of Albrecht Drer's Engraved Passion, richly illuminated by Georg Mack, were included in Katalog 25, 25 Ausgewhlte Werke der Altmeistergraphik, 1989, by Kunsthandlung Helmust H Rumbler (no. 11, illustrated).
