An Indian silver and silver-gilt presentation casket
unmarked, late 19th century, retailed by Farachand Pursram of Bombay
Square and on four sphinx feet, the casket-shaped body applied at the angles with silver-gilt foliate scrolls, the sides with panels of chased scene within shaped oval foliate scroll cartouches and applied with panels of foliate scrolls above, the hinged domed cover with detachable finial formed as three Indian deities seated on a many-headed cobra throne, with stylised foliage borders, the base applied with four shaped oval shell and scroll cartouches, one engraved with an inscription
