probably Portugal, circa 1810, apparently unmarked, with post 1873 French import mark
On shaped circular reeded base, the domed centre repouss with swirling flutes, the short baluster stem supporting the bomb fluted body repouss with a band of acanthus leaves on the lower part and with rocaille and beaded neck collar, the hinged cover with shell motif and flower finial, the scrolling handle with foliate thumbpiece and terminals, marked beneath rim
