Lot Essay
This work belongs to a series of collaborative works Alighiero Boetti began in 1972, in which he asked diverse people to fill with pen ink entire paper sheets. White alphabet and commas metaphorically stand out against the monochromatic background, depicting an imaginary constellation or a musical score, and pointing out the title of the piece.
"Two sheets filled with ballpoint, Pelikan blue. One by a male, the other by a female. Tracing the coordinates between the letters of the alphabet and the comma; beginning on the left, we read the first letter 'M', then 'E', then 'TT'..." (A. Boetti in: 'Everything That's Interesting Is New', Ostfildern-Ruit 1996, p.64.)
