拍品專文

Comparable in handling and subject to a drawing of Diana and Acteon at Windsor Castle datable before Guercino's Roman period, D. Mahon and N. Turner, The Drawings of Guercino in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor Castle, Cambridge, 1989, no. 151, fig. 157. Bathers were one of Guercino's favourite subjects. As well as the drawings at Windsor, there is a sheet with bathers at the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City (D. Stone, Guercino Master Draftsman, exhib. cat., Arthur M. Sackler Museum, Cambridge and elsewhere, 1991, no. 67) and another sold at Christie's New York, 28 January 1999, lot 27. Guercino executed a picture of Three bathers in a landscape dated around 1618 and now in the Boymans-van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam, D.M. Stone, Guercino, Florence, 1991, no. 47.
