Cochin drew, and engraved, a number of compositions of genre subjects. One of his most famous series of engravings is the group of four depicting Les quatres ges, engraved partly by Cochin and partly by others, S. Rocheblave, Charles-Nicolas Cochin, Paris and Brussels, 1927, pls. XX-XXIII. A drawing for a print of the same type of subject was sold at Christie's New York, 30 January 1998, lot 273. Cochin executed in 1746 a red chalk drawing of a woman playing cards, reproduced en manire de sanguine by Demarteau in 1770, S. Rocheblave, op. cit., pl. XLI.
