Lot Essay

Toledano (loc. cit., 1988) dates these pictures to the early 1730s. We are grateful to Dr. Dario Succi for confirming the attribution (written communication, 3 May 1999). He dates the pictures to circa 1734-1735, and suggests that they show the influence of the work of Gaspare Diziani.
