The first 17th Century, the second in late 16th Century style
The first of iron, with later brow-spike screwed through the centre of a later pierced iron rosette, narrow flanges along the eye openings, and separate riveted ear-guards (minor damage), the main edges turned, and brass-headed rivets throughout (pate-plate missing); the second of bright steel, boxed over the front of the muzzle, with separate riveted eye- and ear-guards, brow-spike, and turned and roped main edges, the main plate and ear-guards etched with bands and borders of running foliage against a granular ground (pate-plate missing)
