With four-stage belled brass barrel, the lightly engraved breech section octagonal then polygonal, signed flat bevelled border engraved lock with stepped tail (cock replaced), walnut three-quarter stock (fore-end repaired and partly replaced), brass mounts including engraved side-plate and trigger-guard with acorn finial, vacant brass escutcheon, and later wooden ramrod, Birmingham proof marks
