The first with earlier belled two-stage barrel struck with a barrelsmith's mark (worn) and engraved 'Southampton', engraved iron tang, signed engraved rounded lock, figured walnut full stock, chequered butt, engraved brass mounts including trigger-guard with pineapple finial, and wooden ramrod, London proof marks; the second with sighted barrel engraved with a garbled signature, flat bevelled lock (defective), carved walnut full stock (fore-end damaged) inlaid with silver wire on the butt, cast and chased brass mounts including spurred pommel, and iron ramrod
