Almost forming a pair, with tapering barrels each with gold-damascened panels of etched flowers and foliage at the octagonal breech (some wear), brass-lined touch-holes, shaped tangs each engraved with arabesques and incorporating a back-sight, flat locks engraved en suite with the tangs and each with gold signature and semi-rainproof pan, walnut full stocks, full silver mounts (minor defects) including trigger-guards and spurred pommels cast and chased with scrolling foliage in relief against a gilt stippled ground, barrel bands en suite, and later horn-tipped ramrods, indistinct silver marks, maker's mark 'JL', a fasces between
