Pauillac, 1er cru class. Chteau-bottled
Excellent appearance: Lightly bin-soiled label, level into neck
Tasting note: Surprisingly little bottle variation, remarkably consistent character and style. Not deep coloured, but lovely, lively, intense, rich, with fine mature rim. Initially a low-keyed nose but it blossoms in the glass, churning out a fabulous, biscuity, spicy, slightly citrus-like penetrating fragrance. A distinct touch of sweetness on the palate, by no means a heavyweight, more of a middle-weight, elegant and stylish, svelt yet with some concentration, great length and dry finish. At its best simply lovely.
