Details
1973 JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES III V12 ROADSTER by VICARAGE
Chassis no. UE 15 24381
Red with black leather interior.
Engine: V12, 5343cc, 241bhp at 4750rpm; Gearbox: three speed automatic; Suspension: independent front and rear; Brakes: hydraulically operated servo assisted disc; power assisted steering. Left hand drive.
The original straight-six Jaguar E-Type was the sensation of the Geneva Salon, where it was launched in 1961. It was beautiful, aerodynamically pure, well equipped, undeniably the fastest production car of its day with given roadholding and brakes to match and above all, it was amazing value for money. The E-Type was progressively developed, receiving Jaguar's mighty vee-12 engine just ten years after that brilliant debut. Now with a silken 241 bhp on tap from the 5.3 litre engine, the E-Type had lost none of its performance and its capacity to excite, but had gained yet further refinement. In specification and performance it once again matched the best production models of Ferrari and Lamborghini.
This Series III E-Type was originally exported to the USA and brought back to the United Kingdom in 1989. It was purchased by the vendor, who commissioned a total restoration by Vicarage, the respected marque restorers. As such it is in fine condition and worthy of close inspection. The car performed faultlessly during a short test drive. It is Swiss registered.
