With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, the black dial with Arabic 24 hours display, outer telemetric scale, three silvered subsidiary dials indicating 30 minutes register, constant seconds and 12 hours register, the tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case with screw back, revolving bezel with inner silvered decimal scale, chronograph buttons in the band, together with a stainless steel Breitling link bracelet and clasp, Breitling International Warranty, original fitted presentation box and outer packaging, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

This model was produced in a limited edition of 1000 examples to honour Captain Scott Carpenter, astronaut and aquanaut, for his contribution to the space program Mercury and to the oceanic Sealab project. It is identical to the watch he was wearing when he made the second American orbital flight on board of the capsule Aurora 7.
