A Svres dark-blue-ground compressed teapot and cover
with a broad prow rim gilt with an anthemion and stylised flowerheads, the compressed globular body painted with a band of flowers above a gilt fluted lower section, printed blue cypher for Louis-Phillippe and potter's date for 1840, painted decorator's mark and date for 27th March 1840, gilder's mark for 1840 and various incised marks (slight rubbing to gilding) -- 13.5cm. high
