probably designed by John Twichett and made by Royal Crown Derby, this bowl would have been one of several services used aboard the R.Y. Osborne. Osborne was a wooden paddle yacht of 1,856 tons launched in 1870 exclusively for Edward, Prince of Wales. When Edward acceeded the throne in 1901 it would seem likely that the yacht would have been surplanted by the larger Victoria & Albert and she was eventually sold for breaking in 1908.
