Jackson's OXFORD Journal, Oxford: W. Jackson, Saturday August 19, 1786, number 1738, 2, 4-pages, giving an account of a murder after a cricket match, "...an unfortunate Affray happened at Haverhill: Several Farmers Servants having been playing at Cricket a Quarrell arose" the fight escalated when one of the men drew a knife "Webb stabbed him with such Violence into the bottom of his belly...Thursday Morning, when he expired". The man responsible was jailed "committed to Chelmsford Gaol".
