Rare Steiff Rabbit Skittles
comprising 'king pin' rabbit made of cream and brown velvet, black shoe button eyes, red felt tail coat with yellow felt trim and red felt crown with gold braid, seated on a wooden base --10in. (25.5cm.) tall (moth damage to felt tail coat); and six cream velvet rabbits, each with shoe button eyes and original ribbons, seated on wooded base --8in. (20.5cm.) tall, circa 1900 (all are dirty, incomplete set)

A similar set of nine skittles first appeared in the Steiff catalogue of 1897.
As there is no indication on any of these skittles of a button in the ear, these rabbit very probably date from circa 1900.
