A carved, peirced and painted frame in the French Louis XIV style,
with concave outer edge; raised hatch-leaf acanthus flanked by flower heads and foliage at the corners of the ovolo, all on a cross-hatched ground; running to plain, waisted reposes; recessed concave band; the ogee sight edge with further foliate motifs to the corners on a hatched ground running to waisted reposes at the centres -- 12 x 7 x 1in. (30.5 x 19.1 x 3.9cm.) and another smaller frame of similar design. (2)
