An Italian carved, peirced and gilded tabernacle frame in the Venetian Sansovino style, 17th Century,
the cresting to the top with scrolled broken pediment; the breaks containing further scrolling supporting floral swags; the centre with a winged cherub mask, all above a dentilled entablature; the sides each with a caryatid issuing from further scrolling foliage and swags above architectural scrolls and plinths; the lower side with a central protruding cabochon flanked by scrolls and swags; running schematic foliate design to the sight edge; mirror plate -- 11 x 9 x circa 4in. (28.6 x 22.8 x 10.8cm.)
