Apologising "I at once plead guilty but with extenuating circumstances with regard to the autographs and monograms" he had been delayed in posting to her. Enclosing amongst others Cardinal Wisemen, Tom Hughes, W.M. Thackeray, J.E. Millais, John Leech and W. Holman Hunt. Concluding with a post-script joke that he had recently heard.
