An Austrian ormolu grande sonnerie travel clock with alarm, late 18th century
The rectangular case with oval pediment with engraved border and surmounted by a D-shaped handle, with push repeat button to one side, glazed panels to the sides, foliate engraved bosses to the front, on elongated feet, winding and regulation holes through the solid backplate, with white enamel Arabic convex dial (damages), gilt hour and minute hands and steel alarm setting hand, the movement with verge escapement, chain fusee going train and barrels for other trains, strike/repeat/alarm via three hammers on a bell positioned to the underside of the case
