A japanned longcase clock
The case painted overall with birds and flowers against a dark green ground (re-painted), the breakarch hood with glazed side panels, with breakarch trunk door and on stepped plinth, the brass dial with engraved border and later arch applied with a silvered disc engraved with a moon face, cherub and coronet spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with lozenge half quarter hour markers, matted centre with ringed winding holes and conforming centre to the silvered subsidiary seconds ring, further engraving around the date aperture, later signature Lec. Hanwell London, later seatboard to the five ringed pillar movement with inside countwheel strike; dial and movement first quarter 18th century and associated to case, dial adapted, case probably mid 18th century
