A 19th-Century lacquered and oxidised-brass reflecting circle,
signed Jecker a Paris No. 578, with finely divided silvered circle, two verniers, magnifier, tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, the telescope with fine-screw vertical adjustment, with shades, supplementary eyepieces and other items, in the original fitted mahogany case -- 12in. (30.5cm.) wide, the lid with silver plaque inscribed 1er Prix donnparle. Roi a Mde Missiessy Eleve de l'Ecole Navale le 30 8 bre. 1835.
