A well engineered and presented 1in.:1ft scale model of a Sanderson 12hp beam pumping engine
built by E. Lofthouse with brass bound wood lagged cylinder .7/8in. bore x 2in. stroke, parallel motion with barrelled radius rods and drop link spacers, inlet manifold with main stop and governor valves, valve chest and cylinder draincocks and pipes, fluted centre column, decorative cast beam, rod driven feed pump, barrelled fluted connecting rod with gibbed and cottered big and little ends, webbed crank, pierced eccentric with 'lift-off' eccentric rod, gear driven governor and linkage, spoked flywheel and pedestal mounted outboard main beaing, finished in grey and polished brightwork, wood base with nchequered steps and handrails, the whole mounted on a black and white stand -- 16 x 17in. (40.6 x 45cm.)
