Lot Essay

In 1934 Wade, Heath & Co. Ltd. secured the sole selling rights for the British Empire (excluding Canada) to reproduce figures of popular Disney characters, initially Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Horace Horsecollar. An advert for the Mickey Mouse figure appeared in the April 1935 issue of The Pottery Gazette and Glass Trade Review.
