A 3-inch (7.6cm.) diameter miniature brass terrestrial globe made up of twelve coloured printed paper gores and one [south] polar calotte, the equator and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic ungraduated, the oceans showing ocean currents strongly marked in blue and orange, the Antarctic with the extent frozen sea shown, some steamship routes shown, the continents coloured green and yellow with national boundaries in red (old abrasions) the North Pole with in. diameter hole with screw thread (purpose unknown), the interior of the sphere half-filled with coarse stuffing, resting on a baluster turned fruitwood stand with plinth base -- 5in. (13.4cm.) high
