A 20th-Century brass armillary sphere,
at the centre a 5-inch (12.7cm.) diameter celestial sphere, unsigned, but in the style of J.G. Bartholomew, made up of twelve printed gores laid to the celestial poles on a plastic sphere, coloured yellow, the equatorial graduated in degrees, hours and minutes, the ecliptic graduated in days, some stars shown and labelled in Latin or with Greek letters, to five orders of magnitude (the gores poorly aligned, some lifting at poles, many wrinkles and areas of discolouration, small paper loss at 90 east), the lacquered-brass Zodiac circle stamped with pictures and names (visible join between Capricorn and Aquarius), the lacquerd brass meridian circle stamped with graduations in four times 90, the papered mahogany horizon ring (reproduction) coloured and graduated in degrees in two directions, points of the compass, days of the Houses of the Zodiac with pictures, and days of the month with names, raised on four brass quadrant supports and horizontal ring on turned mahogany stand with three inswept legs -- 34in.
