The circular bezel with a green jade stone carved with an extremely elegant thuluth seal, rope-twist band around the sides, the underside narrowing to the shank and engraved with dense floral designs, the shank meeting the bezel with two gold washed dragons' heads, the exterior engraved with scrolling motifs, a square boss behind

Lot Essay

The inscription combines two verses from the Qur'an, sura iv, (al-nisa), v.173 and sura viii (al-anfal), v.40 (Allah is my sufficiency; how excellent is He in whom I trust, how excellent a patron, how excellent a helper).
