The octagonal table standing on four low turned legs, the top lightly engraved with a central roundel with sun flower design, an outer ring with spiralling lotus blossoms, the pierced sides with similar spiralling lotus design, rubbing to high points

Lot Essay

The strong chinoiserie design elements of this piece would support the suggested dating; chinoiserie elements can be seen throughout the Islamic world in the sixteenth and seventeenth century but appear to have gone out of fashion after this period.
