A Satsuma bell shaped vase and cover
with flaring sides issuing from a short foot, painted and gilt with heart shaped panels of figures practicing calligraphy on a terrace and further figures working before thatched buildings on the banks of a river, all on a dark blue ground reserved with geometric panels and scrolling flowers and foliage -- 3in. (9cm.) high, Kinkozan, 19th Century.
