An unusual pair of ladies' shoes of pink satin applied with panels of embroidery worked in coloured silks and metal threads across the vamp, the back and the heel, forming foliate patterns, with stylised thistles and other flowers, trimmed with gilt metal lace, with pointed upcurved toe and 2.3/8in. (6cm.) waisted heel, white kid rand, straights, lined in linen, one tongue inscribed in ink in the lining "[?]New [?]Pattern Mrs Baker", with later oval buckles, second quarter of 18th century, slight damage and wear
