the boat-shaped bowl applied with scolling leaf handles, painted by Frank Roberts with orchids on beds of earth below leaves, signed, within a shaped quatrefoil panel of raised gilt scrolls issuing flowerheads, the reverse with raised gilt scrolls, below a moulded pale-yellow rim, supported by a gadrooned stem on a square-shaped foot, shape 2013, printed black mark, indistinct date code, late 19th century (some faint glaze cracks) -- 37.5cm. wide
