EDWARDS OF HALIFAX bindery. Book of Common Prayer. Oxford, 1781 -- A New Version of the Psalms of David, fitted to the Tunes used in the Churches. London, 1780. Bound together, 16mo, binding: 102 x 65 x 27 mm. (4 x 2 5/8 x 1 1/8 in.), contemporary vellum, covers with gilt cable and sawtooth roll with a blue wash background, covers with drawings under the vellum, the upper cover showing a cherub holding the arms of Green impaling Cotton, the lower cover showing Kirstall Abbey; smooth spine gilt-lettered on a blue wash background and divided into five compartments by blue wash and gilt bands, four of the compartments each with a repeated gilt flower tool, g.e., modern slipcase. Sold as a binding not subject to return.
