A 17th century parcel-gilt, niellowork and gilt copper book mount
With two clasps, further decorated on the front back and spine with filigree bordered by niello straps of figures, animals, mythical animals and scrolls, the front and back cover with an oval panel; one depicting a bear within scrollwork, the other with a coat of arms featuring two Hebrew letters, and lion supporters fitted with a later book of common prayer, and a chain attachment, contained in a lined and fitted case
