A well engineered mid 19th-Century gun and ferrous metal model of a twin oscillating cylinder condensing reversing paddle engine,
with unlagged cylinders 2in. bore x 3in. stroke, the overmounted crankshaft supported on eight tapering columns, with waisted cranks, and four main and two outboard main bearings and disc flywheel, pierced eccentrics with slip eccentric reversing and lift-off eccentric rods, with levers for hand operation of the valve gear, centrally mounted air pump, floor mounted regulator valve and machined bed, unpainted and mounted on a mahogany plinth base (later), measurements overall -- 13 x 19in. (33 x 49cm.); a model Stuart high speed enclosed crank stationary engine; a pressure gauge; and two worm shafts
