with coiled dragon handle, relief decorated with a continuous scene of dignitaries watching musicians and equestrian warriors from a balcony in an encampment set in a landscape of plantain, pine and rockwork, central shield inscribed 'Peking Races, 4th April 1866, Ladies Prize Cup Won by MR J.G MURRAY'S Mephistopheles Ridden by THE OWNER' -- 5in. (14.5cms) high, 19th century, stamped marks to base.
