"Paisley" style patterns including three with fields of small cones, probably for handkerchieves, possibly Austrian, circa 1900, each inscribed with a number

Lot Essay

This was found at Crayford in Kent and was the archive of David Evans & Co., founded in 1843, a hand block silk printers. The blocks were generally made from pearwood or sycamore and each inscribed with a number, F standing for filler, B for border. Each colour required a separate block.
