Lot Essay

Lathe No. 2487 was supplied in February, 1911, to the Earl Poulett, of Hinton House, Hinton St. George, Somerset, for 290. On his death in 1918, it passed to his son, the eigth earl, who became an engineer. The lathe was acquired by W.H. McCormick, also of Hinton St. George, in 1958.
