CASED PAIR OF PERCUSSION PISTOLS

The sighted twist steel barrels of 27 bore with double gold banded scroll engraved hooked breeches with platinum plugs. Walnut half-stocks with checkered bag shaped grips set with lions face grip caps, set triggers, spur trigger guards, and bar action locks (one hammer repaired) with half-cock safeties. Brass re-inforced mahogany case, partitioned and lined in maroon felt (faded) with a Boss & Co. trade label applied to interior of lid. Containing; Sykes Patent powder flask, ball mold marked No. 27/W.D, James Dixon & Sons Sheffield small three-piece oil vessel, tin cap box and brass mounted wood cleaning rod. Compartment lids (replacements) with bone pulls. John Wiggin, Birmingham. Working 1828-1862. Changed spelling of name to Wiggan (1836-1862), firm became Wiggan & Elliot 1862-1890.
