[BRADY STUDIO - MAQUETTE]. Confederate Dead. The original maquette for Brady's memorial carte-de-visite of Confederate officers killed in the war, comprising 14 cartes-de-visite, taken 1860-1865, mounted on gray card, 16 x 10 in. Rare.
BRADY'S ORIGINAL MAQUETTE. The fallen Confederates depicted comprise Lawrence O'Bryan Branch, Earl Van Doren, John Hunt Morgan, William Barksdale, Albert Sidney Johnston, J.E.B. Stuart, T.J. "Stonewall" Jackson, John Stevens Bowen, Flix K. Zollicoffer, Lloyd Tilghman, A.G. Jenkins, Ben McCullough, Leonidas Polk, and James G. Rains, each on decorative scalloped paper surround and neatly captioned in ink, either on decorative mount or in the lower margin of the card itself. Excellent condition, framed and glazed. This composite maquette was photographed and printed in carte-de-visite format for distribution.
