CASSIUS CLAY LETTER
An important one-page, handwritten letter to a fan penned in 1961 just prior to Clay's tenth professional fight with Willie Besmanoff. Clay writes about what it takes to be a fighter: and you must get in bed about 10 or 11 o'clock...and up every morning about 5 o'clock for road work... He also speaks of the importance of a good diet and sums up: you must try to be the best. On November 29, 1961, Clay knocked out Willie Besmanoff in the seventh round. The letter is written on Miami Carver Hotel stationery and is boldly signed in ink Cassius Clay. One of only two Cassius Clay handwritten letters known. Excellent condition.
