MUHAMMAD ALI AND KARL MILDENBERGER PROMOTION CONTRACT
A significant thirteen-page "Promotional Agreement" between Gottert & Levene, Viewsport LTD., the Louisville Sponsoring Group and Muhammad Ali, covering all boxing, promotional and financial considerations for Ali's fifth title defense against Karl Mildenberger in Frankfurt, Germany on September 10, 1966. Ali received a guarantee of $150,000 for this fight, which he won easily after the twelfth round. The fight was the first color telecast of a sporting event to be transmitted by satellite and was also the last time an Ali fight was seen on network television for seven years. This agreement ended the contractual relationship between The Louisville Sponsoring Group and Muhammad Ali. Starting with Ali's next title defense against Cleveland Williams and for the remainder of his career, Ali was managed by Herbert Muhammad. Initialized changes are included in the agreement, which is signed boldly in ink Muhammad Ali. This is the only known Muhammad Ali Louisville Sponsoring Group fight contract.
