MUHAMMAD ALI VS. GEORGE FOREMAN FIGHT-WORN SHOES
An important pair of fight-worn shoes used by Muhammad Ali in his fight against George Foreman. When Ali fought Foreman it was thought that his only chance against the seemingly invincible Foreman was to jab and move to stay out of harm's way. Instead, Ali used the "rope-a-dope" method which caused Foreman to punch himself into exhaustion. The white leather high-top boxing shoes both feature a red, white and blue Lightning Bolt label. Both shoes have been signed in black, Muhammad Ali, and still have their original laces. Letter of authenticity from Muhammad Ali. Together with a photograph of Ali signing them and a copy of Sports Illustrated which has a photo of Ali wearing the shoes. The shoes show wear and usage. (3)
